Furniture Repair & Restoration

I can take that precious piece that belonged to you your parents, or grand parents and make it useful and beautiful again.

Have a piece that you really like, but it doesn’t go with your other furniture? I can take that piece, strip it, restain and finish it to fit in with your other pieces.

Do you have a chair or other furniture that wobbles or needs repair? I can do most repairs whether it is a simple loose foot or dowel or a complete restoration . When I do a restoration, I take the piece apart at any joint that is loose, clean and reglue under pressure it to make it sound for years to come.

I charge $40/per hour plus 15% for shop supplies. Specialty parts (broken wheel, missing knob) are charged at cost to me .

Example:

It takes me 8 hours of hands on time (I do not charge for drying or setting time) and a knob is missing that costs me $5. The cost would be $320 labor and $48 for shop supplies (this includes, stripper, sand paper, stain, finish…), and $5 for parts brining the total to $373.00.

To receive an estimate:

  • - Send me pictures of your piece (the amount of detail makes a big difference in the time it takes) see Contact Information

  • - A description of what you want done(do you want it stripped down to the wood, stained and finished or just small touch-ups)

  • -Any repairs needed (not all repairs are evident in the pictures such as drawer rails that are broken…) If a piece has broken off, bring any pieces that you have, I may be able to reapply them, or use them to make new pieces.

  • -If you are wanting to stay with the same color, go darker, or go lighter. (keep in mind that if you go alot lighter, it will take a bit longer because the stripping will need to be more exact in the detailed areas)

  • -Any other information that you feel that I should know.
